The introduction of new manufacturing materials and the beginning of mechanised mass production introduced substantial changes in the peasants’ work methods. Traditional tools made by local carpenters and blacksmiths began to be replaced by industrially manufactured tools and machines that facilitated and optimised their tasks. The shed attached to A Casoa exhibits everything from ploughs and seed drills, which were still animal-drawn, to the first shelling, winnowing and threshing machines that incorporated a stationary engine.
